Gateway to Global Trade

Mersin Port (MIP) continues to thrive as Türkiye’s largest port, thanks to its strategic location near major international markets such as the Middle East, North Africa, the Mediterranean, Europe, the Black Sea, as well as North America and the Far East. With direct calls that attract global trade, MIP has become a hub for businesses seeking efficient and reliable maritime connections.

Connected to over 100 international ports and located in the southeast of Türkiye, MIP remains a vital gateway to the Eastern Mediterranean. The terminal plays a critical role in the economy and trade of southern and southeastern Türkiye, while also serving inland transit markets in neighboring countries such as northern Iraq and Syria. It is seamlessly connected to all provinces through highways and the southern railway hub, with Çukurova Airport just 45 kilometers away, offering frequent flight connections.

Adjacent to the port is the Mersin Port Free Zone, Türkiye’s first free zone established in 1986, which offers a wide range of services including warehousing, manufacturing, packing and repacking, assembly and disassembly, engineering, leasing, and exhibition facilities.

Capacity and EMH Expansion

As part of the East Med Hub (EMH) expansion project, a new annex has been added to MIP’s terminal facilities. With this development, MIP has become the only terminal in the region capable of handling vessels up to 387 meters in length, with a 15-meter draft and a total capacity of 18,000 TEUs. This is made possible by MIP’s state-of-the-art cranes, which feature an outreach of 24 rows and a lifting height of 49.5 meters.

  • Direct calls to 100+ global ports and strategic East Med location.
  • Integrated access via highways and the southern railway hub.
  • Proximity to Çukurova Airport (~45 km) for fast traveler access.
  • Mersin Free Zone next door: warehousing, manufacturing and value-add services.
  • EMH expansion enables simultaneous handling of ultra-large vessels up to ~18,000 TEU.
